Title: Birth of the Federation 2 Project. Wanna join?
Post by: TrashMan on October 21, 2006, 07:19:27 am
To those of you who aren't familir wiht it, BOTF was (is) a space-empire managment game set in the Star Trek universe and was one of hte best games of said genre.

A fan-based project has been under way for quite some time now, but more help is allways welecome, especially if it's as talented as a lot of HLPer's are.

Check it out ( I would direct you to the New Beginings sub forums first - at the bottom of the page)

I see we have many things in common, Trashman.

BOTF was one of the first PC games I ever got into when I got my first computer upon graduating high school in '99.

Yeah, it really was a great game :D

Some things were handeled superbly, other were handeled better in some other games (MOO2 & 3, Space Empires series...)

there are currently two side-project under constructions - both use teh same models and resources, but are slighly different in terms of gameplay.

just look at these screenies:

Looks good, but what game engine are they using? The original suffered horrible memory leaks and is no doubt a bit long in the tooth now, so I assume they're using something new?

Edit: Nevermind, found the answer buried in the FAQ.
