Okay, I've properly got the mission underway.  Here's what I've got so far.

Alpha (possibly Beta?) are deployed to disable the Perilous.  The Perilous is guarded by a total of 3 Ares', 6 Hers (Ares and Hercs split into 3 wings of 3) and a wing of 4 Lokis.  The player then tries to draw away 2 wings of the fighters (two with Ares leaders) and once 2-3k away the player is given the clearence to try to disable the leaders while the rest of the fighters engage the enemies wingmen.  Disable fighters, then a transport jumps in to pick up the wing leaders.  When the enemy cruiser gets to 2500 away from the jump node (I have the Perilous trying to leave the system for some reason) the GVC Mycerinus arrives with Delta and Epsilon wing and destroys the cruiser and its escorting wings.

The main probs are with not drawing away all 4 wings when trying to pull away two wings, actually disabling the two leaders and there is something else...I think it is giving the mission more longevity.  Advice and ideas would be handy, thanks.

Sounds okay so far. Couple of quick points.

1) I believe Black Wolf did add an entry for an upgraded Loki so you might wish to use that.

2) What ever you do DO NOT put the squad leaders in the same wing as the enemy ships. You really are asking for trouble if you do that as FS2 quietly destroys disabled enemy fighters when the player isn't looking and give the player who disabled it the kill. (It took me bloody ages to find out why one of my missions for TMA wasn't working. I kept failing the mission cause the ship the player was supposed to disable kept blowing up.)

Rather than using a wing keep all the enemy fighters the player is supposed to disable seperate and simply name them Cancer 1, 2, 3  etc. That will mean that you need 12 seperate fighters rather than 3 wings of four but it will save you a hell of a lot of head scratching later.

If that would cause you a lot of trouble to do because you're written a lot of the missions, there is a work around but it's a little hackish.

Karajorma's Freespace FAQ. It's almost like asking me yourself.

No problem with redoing the wings, and I'll see how the Lokis do.

Yeah, I doubt anyone else would have a ship called Aeschylus in thier mission and the thing about the background was that I started them till I realised that they would all be changed once the campaign was finished.

And I'll get that link up tomorrow...eh, today now (grumbles).
I'll get that mission sorted tommorrow as well, any criticism is helpfull.
