[IceFire]

I've made my first forray into the world of rendered art and some 2d trickery.  Thanks to Setekh for some help and for sending me the .cobs to play with.

_Nice_... the background is _very_ nice, but here a few pointers for your next image...  

• The dark side of the planet is not a fine edge - it should be. I'll let you see if you can figure out a way to fix it (if no other way, use brushes), but it's good to figure out your own ways to do things.  
  
• The thruster glows on those Taurets are slightly dull. I'm sure you noticed this - a nice way to fix this is to add another glow on top which is white.

I like it! it has just the right ambiant colour and the position of the ships works really well.

One idea from me though   if you stick with those engine glows on the Taurets you might want to use the smudge tool to get rid of the lines that you can see on the engine flames, it really does make it look a lot better (unless you plan to use lens flare - in which case don't bother).

I had some fun with that planet there and I realize that the edge is kinda blurred...so I'll try and work on that.

Agreed on the engines....I did do this picture in about 20 minutes (I needed some kind of creative outlet because I had been programming for class all night) so I think I did okay.

I'll definately work on those thruster glows and I might try and add some "life" to the Hatshepsut.

Okay several things have been changed.

1) I sharpened the transition between planet and background on the dark side.  Its not perfect, but its a little better.

2) Engine glows are more blended and I used a dodge layer to make it glow a little more.

3) More ships in the background and all have some engine glow.

4) Dark was impressed with my nebula, which wasn't mine so I made my own nebula and for the first time ever, I think I succeeded in making something I like.  I hope you like it to.  You might not even be able to tell the difference.  Oh, and the stars are brighter.

That was one of the best spelling of Hatshepsut I have ever seen.

But, nice job! That's what I meant - the thrusters are much better now
