I know what BEX is: it's Buffer Overflow Exception. I know it's thrown up when Data Execution Prevention is triggered, or at least that's what StackHash_2264 leads me to believe.
So I've had Mechwarrior 4 installed and working rather splendidly on my HDD. Ran without problems straight from install. I bought a solid state drive, installed all the essentials, then installed Mechwarrior 4 later. "Mechwarrior IV has stopped responding" almost immediately. Error below:

DEP is disabled via command line, and it doesn't even work by running in exception. I don't understand why this is still occurring. I'm at a complete loss. Anybody have the faintest idea of what's going on?
[EDIT] Could hardware-based DEP be the cause?
