Title: [RESOLVED] Cutscenes not working properly.
Post by: VagandPraetor on January 17, 2007, 09:43:20 pm
Ave. Apologies if this is a very common technical issue.

Anyway, I got myself the latest build, with the latest launcher, and the cutscenes in the .ogg format, and made sure that they are placed next to their avi brothers in the freespace2/data/movies folder.

Well, upon starting up the game, no image comes up. Just a black screen with the audio track. Then I pressed the escape key in an attempt to get out of it quick, but the game acted as if I alt-tabbed out of it, and well, it takes about three to five seconds before I get to the log in screen, at which point I have to alt tab back in.

Otherwise, the mission briefing video works perfectly, and the game acts normal.

I added the command line to disable movieplay back and discovered that I can get to the log in screen almost immediately. I guess there is something wrong with that aspect of the game, for me.

Could anyone help?

try deleting/moving the .avi cutscenes. They might be screwing it up.

I created new folder called 'oldcgistuff' and moved the .avi clips and well, waddaya know?!

IT WORKS!

A miracle indeed.

Thankyou all for help and such prompt response.
