Please don't use such painful titles :(

I hope the game will be worthy of your joyful tears. Never played the original, but I do understand the hype.

Woo hoo! After many many years, a game to look forward to.
Let's hope this doesn't go the way moo3 did (with firaxis, shouldn't be much risk for that anyways).

Drone riots.

Excellent news, though it's a shame they couldn't flat-out call it Alpha Centauri 2, though thats understandable in a way as well, as it would point out a sequel.

The trailer is very nice, though it looks quite a lot more hopeful than the much bleaker one of Alpha Centauri, which I personally enjoyed quite a bit to set the mood. With Firaxis involved though, I have faith that they will deliver a true successor to Alpha Centauri.
I'm all about getting the most out of games, so whenever I discover something very strange or push the limits, I upload them here:

-----------------

"Do you begin to see, then, what kind of world we are creating? It is the exact opposite of the stupid hedonistic Utopias that the old reformers imagined. A world of fear and treachery and torment, a world of trampling and being trampled upon, a world which will grow not less but more merciless as it refines itself. Progress in our world will be progress to more pain."
- George Orwell

hopeful, you mean apart from the flooded pyramids, vast smog clouds in Rio and general signs of chronic overpopulation in the major cities of the world?

Remember the Unity in SMAC was supposed to represent a new, united, tolerant and ecologically aware humanity.

I fall to my knees, tears streaming down my face, and raise my hands in supplication and praise unto the gods of Firaxis and Meier: you have not forgotten your people. Your light shines upon them, your benevolence wraps around them like a cloak, turning aside terrible sequel titles that betray their ancestors and their players.

Praise be to Civilization. Praise be to Alpha Centauri.

Hands down, Firaxis is one of the best fan-friendly game companies out there. Glad they are still kicking and in full motion, may their business be always profitable.
