What's the difference between standard and dogfight weapons?

The Mekhu is the best dogfight weapon, I think, from the numbers, though you can double check me in the wiki.

Nothing beat a Morning Star/Tempest combo though, especially when Susanna or anyone else decided to dogfight in a Sekhmet.

I thought it was that weak ship's weapons were made better, and better ships weapons were made worse?

Here are driffences:
- Subach and Mekhu became the best Dogfight weapons (scaled up damage)
- other primary weapons have got scaled down damage
- there are also some driffences in secondary weapons, however i must look at the tables to see what exactly they're driffent than normal variants.
