1 quick question about turrets

Ok, first things first, yes I did use the search function.

My question is what is a step-by-step procedure on how to create a multi-part turret (not hierarchy!! been there done that!!) that will convert easily using PCS. If you please could you also tell me how to glue the appropreate lights for the animation of the barrel(s) and fire points. It think I already know how to to firepoints (glue a light as a child, glue it where you want the gun to come out, and name it Turret##-FP##)
