Coming Soon, GTD Deneb or something else cool
So far I like the shape,

Yeah it looks like THAT ship just because I like the configuration!  :D

Looks like a good start. I like the Colossus vibe in it. It's definitly a source of design that was never explored deeply by modding community.
Add more curvature to your model. Base shape is still quite low poly, and low amount of polygons is quite noticable here.
Also rething your beam placement. It has 17 beam cannons o__O. I know the technology goes on after Capella, but your beam placement render it unable to focus most of her weapons in one direction. Not to mention that 17 beams per destroyer-grade warship makes is quite op.

Really? I counted 23, although given that the three in front seem to be on a different scale, perhaps that's only 3 beam cannons and 20 AAAs or something (not that 20 AAAs isn't ridiculous in and of itself, albeit for different reasons).

Re: Coming Soon, GTD Deneb or something else cool
Thanks folks! The beams are all the same size. Yes I too wondered if I went a bit overboard with the main beams. I WILL keep the three in front and delete one and move the other two in the rear to the outter "pontoon" areas.  Might also delete the dorsal and ventral beams. What ya think?  Oh and don't forget, I'll add some large turrets too. Not sure if three gun or two gun setup yet.

Re: Coming Soon, GTD Deneb or something else cool
My opinion of the design is that it lacks a certain consistency.  You have the very shallow engine strut at the front, but the two rear ones are quite deep.  Unless there is some other purpose for the deep engine nacelles I would suggest you add depth to the front strut... perhaps as far back as where the narrow portion of the neck begins.  I would also suggest changing the shape of the rear engine housing to eliminate the straight vertical sides.

Do you have plans to add a fighterbay, or will this be more of a dreadnought class?

Thanks for the input Trivial Psychic :) I'll look into your comments with the model. With how massive this ship is (OK, so it's being more and more Collie like, I'm GUILTY! :d ) I felt the slab sided would be better for this type of ship. I'll mess around with that and see what transpires. I feel GOOD with the responses I'm getting  as it's always a good thing having another pair of eyes and perspective on such things. :)

So, this ship is colli sized... what do these turrets fire? Fenris-sized shells? :D

GAUSS Turrets, electro-magnetic guns firing Volkswagen Bug sized ultra-dense metal slugs.
