Status Update

Chapter 1 status as of 10 June:

  • A draft of the last mission for Act II is now complete
  • Two further Act II missions need polishing
  • Six Act II missions are reasonably complete
  • Various table bugs and such cleared up
  • One mission remains unstarted for Act III
  • Nine Act III missions need playtesting/polishing

I liked having no shields in the beginning of FS1. Then capships were actually dangerous and enemy fighters could really kill you.

Look, give a combat pilot too much to read inside the cockpit and they will die in a real dogfight. I know this is only a simulation, but the same paradigm holds true. It's another display that you have to read, and unlike the others, it takes too much time. You can't just scan it. So you get your ass shot off while trying to read what your wingmates and command are telling you. Voice acting is better for this. Even if you only voice act the stuff in mission. The briefings don't matter as much.

If you go to F4-events, you can see the names of wings you're not supposed to see like "...reading this anyway" wing, and you can also find out the names of the carriers, etc XD. I did that a lot with the demo before targeting comps.
