No offense, but you are gonna die when other Inferno forumites see this topic...  :p

It's just that this question has been asked a lot. So, here is the answer:

R2 is not done, and it is nowhere near being done. Woomeister has been working alone on it for a while now, you won't be seeing it for a long, long time. Also, R2 is now called "INF SCP". They have dropped the storyline, have created a new one, no one knows what the hell is gonna happen to the Gargant, and the Ancients have been cut out completely. Though I hear a sub-campaign called "Gateways" will feature them...

But, Inferno: Alliance, which is a prequel to Inferno, should be coming out soon. It's being tested now... correction, it is almost ready to be tested.

LGM is working on Steadfast, an Inferno-based campaign; and I am building Dreamcatcher, a sequel to R1's storyline. Maybe these will hold you over until INF SCP is released.

Damn it! Didn´t know that it´s so serious about INF SCP... I hope it will ever be released... If only I could I´d help Woo, but I haven´t the abilities.

Guess I'm not the only one out there who calls INF SCP as INF R2... (I call it R2 because I don't want to get confused between an Inferno build, the Inferno mod and Alliance...)

Inf R2 will be released in 11-23 months, according to Woo.
INF:A is finished and needs testing before the release.

There seems to be a confusion to me... Some people think Inferno SCP is the Inferno R1 Patch, but it's not, its the next release (well after Alliance, anyway).
Title: Re: Where is Inferno R2??
Post by: Woomeister on September 26, 2006, 01:04:59 pm
The patch doesn't count as anything so it's still called R1.

The patch doesn't count as anything so it's still called R1.

It isn't exact. With my slow connection,I'm not able to DL big files. This summer I DLed the patch from another computer, but I was very lucky. I thought at school DLing was easier now but unfortunately I made a mistake(I still don't have Transcend).

I wouldn't have the patch at this time=there's a difference between the Main INF and the R1 patch. When Edivad told me "Put some Archons in the mission" I didn't know what he was refering to.

I added an R2 fighter to the Patch as a little bonus. That's what he's refering to.

It was really ugly if you ask me :P. That and the other fighter with the Ares textures...

Well they aren't used now.

Ha hem this summer I DLed the patch...
Maybe you were talking about two Ancient ships,a fighter and an installation, without tbl entries. The fighter strangely looks like the Yaaru :D
Title: Re: Where is Inferno R2??
Post by: Woomeister on September 26, 2006, 03:37:34 pm
I don't remember adding an ancient station. Though I was wondering if anyone noticed the fighter, that version is incomplete though.

It's called Pyrgos.It also has a icon.
Title: Re: Where is Inferno R2??
Post by: Woomeister on September 26, 2006, 03:48:19 pm
The Pyrgos was in the main R1 files not the patch.

Anyway is INF:A being relased shortly? I'm back after about a week...

Hopefully by the end of this month at the latest. That should give me time to fix everything from the testers and to get a more complete INFA2 running on top of it.
Title: Re: Where is Inferno R2??
Post by: Mobius on October 15, 2006, 04:24:30 am
You will release something belonging to INF:A2 too?
Title: Re: Where is Inferno R2??
Post by: Woomeister on October 15, 2006, 04:27:02 am
Well I've added the skyboxes I made for it, but the EA and Jovian ships won't be in it as they aren't finalised. But I want to make sure there are as few compatability issues as possible for running INFA2 on top of INFA before INFA is released.
Title: Re: Where is Inferno R2??
Post by: Mobius on October 15, 2006, 04:41:29 am
Good,good.

Jovian ships?!?
Title: Re: Where is Inferno R2??
Post by: Woomeister on October 15, 2006, 04:44:57 am
Yeah the ships you'll be fighting against. They can't stick with using the current INFA stuff all the time.

You can really see how the EA formed, it's cool. But why EA? The Martians kick Earther ass all the time (well with the help of Alpha 1, of course). ;)

Uh you did play from mission 15 onwards?

Well, the ******* and the ******* did go boom, didn't they? ;)

Well if you read the last mission debrief, you'll see why you don't 'win'

I did read that to see the grammar errors.

But the ******* went boom... Doesn't that count for anything? I'm so... useless.... :(
Title: Re: Where is Inferno R2??
Post by: Woomeister on October 15, 2006, 06:04:05 am
Yeah but it took a lot of resources to make it go boom.
Title: Re: Where is Inferno R2??

The ***** went boom with you piloting **** and *****.
Someone could think that we aren't talking about INF:A.

Alpha 1 may be transfered to Earth for an assignment(I don't know why but recently I always think about officer exchange programmes...)

Stupid Earthers... Heee, funny in S:AH I was like DEATH TO MARS!!!

Guess I always get caught in the spirit. In R1 I was hoping that we would get to bombard Earth because the EA was pissing me off. ;)
Title: Re: Where is Inferno R2??
Post by: asyikarea51 on October 15, 2006, 09:35:05 am
Thanks to S:AH, I'm somewhat anti-EA.

You'll probably be still serving in the Martian fleet in INFA2.

Inf R2 will be released in 11-23 months, according to Woo.
INF:A is finished and needs testing before the release.

gosh in that time you can make a whole new game :|
is it just slow progress or lacking people with experience
:sigh: well im just gonna sit down and wait

INFA is released, see the top of the board. :P

As for INF R2, its mostly stagnant right now, instead Woo's working on INFA2, which is like S:AH Chapter 4, just better. ;7

Yeah if you pay me and give me like 20 expert staff members I'd have all 3 mods released in a year :p
Title: Re: Where is Inferno R2??

Well, you DO need 20 expert staff members, you know, its true.
Title: Re: Where is Inferno R2??

I did INF:A without 20 expert staff members :D
Title: Re: Where is Inferno R2??
Post by: Snail on December 16, 2006, 02:59:44 pm
Well INFA2 is supposed to be a lot bigger, right? And INFSCP needs people.
Title: Re: Where is Inferno R2??
Post by: Woomeister on December 16, 2006, 03:20:18 pm
Bigger in some ways, and not in others.
Title: Re: Where is Inferno R2??
Post by: Snail on December 16, 2006, 03:42:54 pm
Smaller in which ways?
Title: Re: Where is Inferno R2??
Post by: Woomeister on December 16, 2006, 03:49:08 pm
Well I have less ships to develop this time and onlt a few new weapons, so that cuts the amount of time needed in those areas.

Hey all. As you know, I am very new to this Inferno forum.

So from what I remember\gather:
After Inferno R1 was released, they decided to scrap it and totally 'redo' it, and the storyline. This revision, R2\INF SCP, will not be part two, but a re release of part one, correct?

Are the campaigns ("Alliance", "Dreamcatcher" etc) are a continuation of the R1 storyline, or just campaigns using the R1 'engine' (so to speak) without any regard to the storyline?

Alliance, AFAIK, is within the "new" continuity (R2/INFSCP). I can't speak for Steadfast, but Dreamcatcher takes place after R1, in the old continuity. I tried to provide a decent backstory (see the Temp Dreamcatcher thread in this forum), covering the holes that R1 left. Heck, after Dreamcatcher, I may even make a Third Shivan War campaign telling that story a little more firsthand. Some of those battles I made up I'd really like to actually see... though the Battle of Delta Serpentis III (important note: not Inferno canon) definitely goes under the BoE category.  :D

Steadfast doesn't follow INFR1's storyline. The GTVA and the EA had a peaceful re-unification (though maintaining separated the alliances). The classic rebellion takes place in Altair (when the Zods transferred their shipyards and xenobiologists left archeologic Ancient sites, Altair became a backwater system with a big scrapyard inside, like the AMARC, where poor people are employed in frightening conditions to mothball old ships).

And what about my first question.

Ty for your time,

'Official' campaigns:
INFR1: The first Release of Inferno. The one we all know.
INFR2: Canceled sequel to R1.
INFSCP: Redone version of Inferno with new and super-cool stuff.
INFA: Inferno Alliance, within the new continuity, tells the story after Sol was cut off.
INFASA: Inferno Alliance Standalone, a modification of the first INFA with a better campaign (;7) and storyline.
INFA2: Sequel to INFA, which will be used with INFASA.

Fan-made expansions
Steadfast: An alternate history for INFR1 in which EA and GTVA have a peaceful reunion
Dreamcatcher: Stuff about Nightmares and a HOL rebellion.

Thats what i was looking for. Ty, it was very detailed. Though im pained to ask one more question. Prepare.

Got a link for the official campaigns and fan made expantions? I found the INF site, and that only had INF:R1 up for D\l.
I see links to INF:A and INF:SCP, and INF: Dreamcatcher in peoples siggies, but i lost the INF site, and dont see a link for the other campaigns.
Title: Re: Where is Inferno R2??

That's because most of 'em are still in production, and not released yet. INFR1 and INF:A are the only released Inferno campaigns.

Uh... you should see Steadast's site in my siggy and Mobius' and Edivad's ones.
BTW: http://digilander.libero.it/DarthDySkO/
I know... it's crappy... and I don't think that the links for the Stop font and the fanfiction works anymore.
Just tried. They don't work anymore :doubt: I'll have to fix it.
Can anybody suggest where to upload the fanfiction?

EDIT: site fixed. If anybody wants to read the fiction, he will have to PM me first so I can send the fiction.
