Afterlife plays the best music. Dodgy barstaff though. . .
It's called Callista, by Saki Kaska.
If you mean downstairs Afterlife, that's supposedly a remix of it, but I've tried listening to them in sequence and I honestly don't think it's the song I've been told it is.
It seemed to me like the ME2 soundtrack was trying to be more dramatic, but in the process lost some of its retro-tastic electronica goodness that i liked about ME1.
You must have been playing a really different ME1 since...well, what? You're talking about Uplink, maybe Virmire Ride too? That's nowhere near the whole soundtrack. The music of the game you're most likely to notice, Spectre Induction and Uncharted Worlds, either isn't that, or came back for the sequel.
And when you get right down it, this is program music. It's written
for something, supposed to be evocative. ME1's music was only evocative or appropriate on big moments. ME2's is nearly all the time. You can go "the changed it to be accessible whaaaaa" like you're Nuke or something but the whole point of the game soundtrack is that it should be accessible and evocative to the maximum number of people who play it.
