...once Inferno is released? Vote (to see results) and discuss.

First thing i like to do is look at the tech descriptions of the ships and view any intel details/backstory(i just love reading the background fluff adds more to the game in my opinion) , then play the campaign and then do some fredding :)
-
All of that, probably in that order, but I'm probably gonna FRED before cracking open the VPs, and leech stuff :) (and adding entries to my credits.tbl).
-
Uh, there won't be any VPs. It's too big to have to patch complete VP files since we'd have to have several patches that overwrite the files in the original VPs, or we have to update the original VPs which would mean much larger downloads.
-
I'd go with the first option, then reading all the tech entries afterwards.
-
I'd never finished the campaign. Therefore I'm happy to see the HTLness of all the ships I didn't encountered last time in playing the camapign.
-
Campaign first, as Tech Room is bound to have spoilers.
Remember the Icanus entry?
-
Like every campaign I have played, ''Play through the campaign from start to finish ASAP''.
-
Actually i have had a thought, the very first thing i will do is my Happy dance, that its been released, then view the tech descriptions and then onto the campaign :)
-
Shiplab (F3) Kill rotation, engine trails on. Draggy twisty zoom zoom.
-
may be i make some reskin of EA ships(my first step to make ships.)

Yeah, right, like there wasn't a full tech description for all ship on the old inferno website long before R1 release.
Hell, the Inferno has the first mod that got me register to internet forum - HLP - damn that was so long ago :). I remember reading the ship database for a hundred times before R1 was even released, there were also (scrapped now) Ancient ships, and other shivan like ancient mystery race (scrapped too). I also remember that when I looked at EA ship I though that they will have no beams but high power plasma blobs turrets (kinda like BP UEF).
...damn that was long ago. Guys, even Duke Nukem Forever made it out, I don't want to wait for Inferno another decade.

Except their problem is it was marginally fun and immensely frustrating.
Inferno being the mod it is will be immsensely fun and marginally frustrating.

I will jump straight into beginning of the cmapaign and play through all missions. I would also read tech descriptions of all ships that are added throughout campaign to database because I love universe descriptions of all craft, weapons, etc.
-
Probably both Play the Campaign and leech the ships :) The models are too epic to be ignored!
-
That Icanus / *coughGargantCough* battle at the end of the first campaign left me wanting so much more. I look forward to this bwad bwoy being released.
-
:bump:
I'd go to the Tech Room first. I've been doing that ever since I learned how to view all ships in the Tech Room, including locked ones, which is ... since I played PI in 2009.
-
The FSOpen lab is better than the techroom for that.
-
The same thing I do every time I play a new mod: Play the campaign until I reach a mission where I can stick around indefinitely after the action is over with no consequences, then use cheats to cycle through all of the weapons and fire them to see what they're like.
-
honestly, you needed an "All of the above" option. that's what I'm doing
