My turn! Here's my take on FS vs SW vs ST(no B5 experience)
First, fighters: FS wins. Star trek doesn't have any worth speaking of, although the small ships they have do all have beam weapons. However, they wouldn't stand up to a serious fighter attack from SW or FS because those are actually FIGHTERS that are capable of manouvering. So ST is out here. FS still wipes the floor with SW though- SW ships are small and manouverable, but they have weak shields and crappy missiles. Even though SW lasers are probably more powerful, they fire extremely slowly. FS ships, on the whole, are larger and quite formiddably armed, with racks of missiles and twice the laser-fire rate. Also, FS ships have a critical advantage of afterburners- sorry Luke, you're going down.
Capships is where it gets difficult to judge. SW is the first to be eliminated this time- the ships only have laser fire to go on, even though it is rapid-fire and fairly high damaging. They seem to have weak shields that protect them only in a limited extent, and the SDs have easy-access shield generators for the FS fighters to pop. ST would have a more difficult time, but their beam weapons could blast them too. The difference is that apparently fighters can fly inside of SW shields, a readily apparent fact(a pair of AWings managed to destroy the ones on the SSD in ROTJ.) The only advantage SW has is the Death Stars, both of which wielded a supermassive beam weapon that could destroy any ship with a single hit. However, it was proven to be vulnerable to fighter attack, so FS could beat it, although ST would have a difficult time. SW is out of this one early.
ST vs FS is a tough call. ST ships all have beam weapons, shields, and bomb devices(photon torpedoes, Tricobalt devices, etc.) However, they are tiny beams, and they can't penetrate shields. Fortunately for Picard, most FS ships don't have any. Also, some ST caps have cloaking devices, a major advantage for ST. Also, ST ships are quite fast and manouverable compared to FS and SW ships. All FS has going for them here is big, powerful beams and carriers capable of launching fighters. The fighters would make life miserable for the ST ships- weak, but in high numbers, and the ST ships really don't have any antifighter weapons. The powerful beam weapons can slice through shields, but they are far less accurate and precise than ST's beams, which would probably be able to knock out the FS ship's weapons almost at the beginning of the fight. The winner here would probably be
ST, but only if they fired first.
