Just saw the trailer and it seems like it is going to be worth watching. When I first heard about it I was concerned they were just going to remake the original, but they finally decided to move the franchise offworld so I'm glad they didn't go down that road.

From what I saw in the trailer, it's a bunch of soldiers from various battlefields, transported to an alien planet, where they are then hunted by multiple predators instead of just one.

No amount of invisiblity saves you when over 300,000 MLRS bomblets drop on your posistion exterminating all living things for several acres.

The Steel Rain will find you if you fight, by no other means then the proverbial "flaming datum" when you kill something.

Seriously, the amount of destruction we're capable of, even with only conventional weapons, makes the power of many gods look like a party trick. The Greek and Roman war gods would **** themselves when dealing with modern artillery. The Gotterdammerung is a drop in the bucket compared to 73 Easting.

Well, right. But AFAICT, preds like staying fairly close to their prey. I mean, I guess if you lose a whole platoon or company or whatever and no longer have anyone nearby then you could paste the area with your MLRS and not care, but otherwise? Also, if you start using that sort of thing, then they might start using their invisible space ships, in which case the nukes will probably come out and all bets are off.

Mind, those shoulder cannons are probably decent anti-air weapons.
