Sure a lot of these ignorant fools didn't vote but some of them did.

Even if we ignore the voting public these fools do get included in surveys of presidential approval etc which does have an effect on policy decisions.

What exactly their impact is is harder to determine but I'd bet it's larger than you're claiming.

That is amazing!

I'd really love to see them fill in the names on a blank map of the world...

Considering how close the last election was, probably.

I just think that if someone is interested that interest should be encouraged, if not, they'll just end up voting for whatever they're spoon-fed or their friends say.

An informed electorate is a huge danger to almost every government out there.

The only reason why the government of any democracy gets away with so much crap is because for every voter there is who has examined the matters at hand there are ten who are voting without really having a clue who they were voting for.

Certainly explains why the Republican party was hell bent on destroying the public education system.
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside
