Of course, when I finally get the itch to play Freespace 2 again after a year, I run into problems. 

Essentially I have no backgrounds when using the MediaVPs - the latest 3.6.12 models.  I still have stars but no planets or nebula effects.  I thought maybe it was the version of FS Open I was using, but even using the debug build shows nothing.  I decided to try the 3.7. build just released, same thing.

Has anyone else run into this problem before?  I have OpenAL installed already, and I receive no errors when launching them.

You missed a couple of VPs, grab them from the release thread: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=70736.0
