So I just bought myself a laptop with the above graphics chip and 4GB ram on board. Would this be sufficient to play BP WiH at a reasonable rate? Opinions please?
-
The 6470m should be sufficient to play the campaign, provided you use the compatibility pack and a recent nightly build.
-
Well I tried it out last night and it was wonderful (upgrading from a Intelgrated :ick: ), set to highest resolution, highest settings and all ran smoothly! I even tried a little Diaspora which lagged like hell on my old laptop (I only played through it on easy at the lowest settings possible for the story) and WOW is that beautiful on full settings!
One chuffed Blue Planet player here, all excited for the voice acting and Act III ;7 ;)

Er... you mean Act IV? Act III was released back in 2013.

Really? I thought it was Age of Aquarius and then War in Heaven Acts 1 and 2? Waiting for War in Heaven Act 3? :p

We're waiting for War in Heaven acts 4 and 5. Perhaps you are confused by the fact that the in-game campaigns are called "Blue Planet: War in Heaven 1" and "Blue Planet: War in Heaven 2". The former is acts 1-2 and the latter is act 3.
-
That'll explain it, very confusing naming convention. :confused:
-
Well, otherwise, everyone would have to replay acts 1-2 just to play through the new stuff when act 3 came out. Unless things have changed since I last heard, acts 4-5 will be integrated into the "Blue Planet: War in Heaven 2" campaign with acts 1-2 remaining separate (because there are no variables from acts 1-2 that need to carry over into the rest of the campaign).

Suddenly receiving errors? Anyone see what is wrong, I've attached my FS2Open.log here...
bp-shp.tbm(line 222):
Error: Required token = [#End], [$Subsystem:], [$Name], or [$Template], found [$Glowpoint overrides: ( "red_glow_10:1,2" )].

You are trying to use a 3.7.1 without the compatibility pack installed. As The_E said, standard BP is incompatible with non-BP builds, so you must install the compatibility pack.
