Ok, so I'm relatively new to pretty much everything even remotely related to FS2, including Diaspora. So that being the case, I mapped the keys to my preference, and wasn't having any issues playing through the first (training/CNP) mission until it says to "open escort menu" - an error message pops up saying that there isn't any keys bound to that function and it gives me two options - to either quit, or assign a key to the function - the problem is, there aren't any actions/functions in the list (I checked all 4 lists of control functions - targeting, ship, weapons, and misc.) that aren't assigned to a key - there isn't even an option for an "escort menu" - let alone there being such a function that is not assigned........any help would be greatly appreciated............

I'm guessing - just guessing blind - that it's asking for the 'target ship on escort list' targeting control, which by default is bound to E.

I remember getting that same error. Is that control unbound by default?

Silly FS with its myriad targeting controls...

well, I mapped q and e for roll - so how does one find it to remap it?

The F2 options menu should have a tab for controls, just slap it on something you're not using.

Did you install the patches? That should fix the error you mention.

Ahhhhh (light bulb flashes with a BANG!!!) patches. I happen to be a software engineer by trade (which would make you think that I should think of that when troubleshooting, especially after reading about other problems addressed and fixed by the patches), yet still the obvious escapes me (more often than I care to admit unfortunately) sometimes..........anyway, many thanks to all of you for the help - I don't know about you, but I'm off to kick some cylon butt..........
