Freespace 2 Shinemaps Release and Discussion Thread!

The time has come.... they are finished.... at last ;)

Today I can proudly release the complete shinemap package v1.0 for the previously non-shinemapped Freespace2 ships :)

You will find my shinemaps and some other of my stuff at Milliways, where you will also find future releases.
You can have a look at the shinemap screenshots on the Preview galleries

Direct download link for V1.1

Use this thread to:
  • post screenshots (i'll add cool screenies to the preview page)
  • tell me the maps are crap (and why, so I can improve what's wrong)
  • suggest improvements
  • tell if you like / don't like them

cool, time to stuff them all in the media VP.

now, make animated glowmaps, 'specially for the shivans.
just another newbie without any modding, FREDding or real programming experience

go bug an0n for a good hosting account, if you want pretty much  unlimited space and good reliability.

I made a pulsing Mara glowmap. But I think it pulses too quickly...

I'd like to see screenies of the HP Anuket, for better reference... but it'd have to be recompiled with the facet PCS build. Which, unfortunately no worky...
