I found the 20 quid adaptor but don't think it's worth it (at this point in time).
I did however find this
http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-SNES-USB-PC-CONTROLLER-SNES-TO-PC-HOT_W0QQitemZ390075257279QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Games_Accessories?hash=item5ad24c11bf&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
having never heard of them before i'm slightly dubious.... can anyone let me know if this is a genuine product?

Go to Radio Shack, or WalMart or some other bulk emporium. They probably have third party knock off USB gamepads.

I've got gravis and the like for my controller based fun. But i fancied treating myself to that classic snes feel. Especially for Killer instinct and streetfighter.. I guarantee within five minutes of holding the control muscle memory will take over and those 60+ hit ultras will come flooding back.

:bump:
Soooooooooooo, anyone know of any reccommendations for a reasonably priced, non-**** quality usb snes control?

why would you want such a thing its awful, there are much better gamepads available

I have better, but i want to feel like i'm playing a super nintendo. Over the years of Streetfighter, Super Metroid, Yoshis Island, Killer instinct, Cybernator, Super Bomberman 2, Zelda a link to the past, Super Probotector/Contra 3, Starfox, Pilotwings, Mario Kart, Super Battletoads, Ultimate mortal Kombat 3 aaaaaand many many more. I developed callusses on my fingers that a keyboard and mouse will never be able to replicate, i earned those. It just feels right, As soon as i get the thing in my hand, Muscle memory will kick in and i'll be pulling off 120+ Ultra combos as Fulgore, Friendship Noob Saibot finishers, Walljumping with ease in Metroid 3. I just love the feel of a jump skid turn in Mario Kart too, Keyboards are perfunctionary, but a snes controller for me is harmony.
