i was thinking we have modelview,fsview but why not weaponsview.So you can load the ship were the weapon is on and if you hit the ctrl it fires the weapon so you can see what it looks like whit out starting fs2 to see how it looks.

what do you all think of that idea?

Would be damn cool - I'd especially want one for beams, but I don't know how anyone would be able to do it. Maybe the release of the source (and hence how FS2 renders its weapons) will help.
