Ok I'm LOST on this one
Thunder hooked me up with a few cobs of mainstay FS2 ships, which was simply excellent. Now here's the kick in the head, een though they show textures in 3dx open ANY of them in Ts4,.BLUE. No texture mapping,..just over all blue.

I've tried a resaved 3dx version,..I've even used 3dx to see what directory the cob's where coded to show the textures location as and created that full directory and all sub-folders on the same Drive letter as it ws coded,..no go,..blue.


Ummm any ideas?

I've had that problem with ships converted to 3DS format.

I resaved them in 3D- Exploration and it worked  
Did you check "save textures as .bmp files" in the save options? If yes, deselect it.
You have the textures in the same directory as the model, right?

Got it.
 When you have the model file and all the textures converted, load it into 3DX then do the whole flip-faces thingy, then save it again as COB. After that simply save it as 3ds. The only thing wrong with it when I did it were a few of the textures were kinda screwy in Anim8or- butnot in 3DX. Don't ask me why.
edit: I forgot to say, if you are saving to a new directory, do actually use the Save as BMP function. And make sure other stuff like save texture maps is enabled.
 Intriguing thing is I get this in TS1 when I load up a converted .cob- havn't sorted it out for TS1, but I hope that helps you man

Yes the textures are all bmps.

Here's the thing...this are already cob formatting models that Thunder sent me that are suppossed to be "ready to go" for TS.

I had 3dx set to ascii mode for cobs,..turned that off...POOF it's working
