At the moment we have a few mission designers who want to add voice acting to their missions and campaigns. Voice makes a huge difference to a mission. Making it easier to play (you can concentrate on fighting instead of reading messages) and more immersive. There are a lot of interesting parts available ranging from major characters to one or two line bit parts. You don't need to have had any experience. All the voice actors who featured in Raider Wars were first timers. It really is very easy. All you need is a quiet room, a microphone, and a few minutes spare time.
If you would like to volunteer to help mission designers add voice acting to TBP campaigns please post a message in this thread. You do not need to post your real email address. Mission designers can contact you via personal mail here on HLP. Thank you.
-
Why the heck not? My english accent isn't THAT good, but I might as well give it a try. Count me in.
-
I've recently got hold of a pretty good microphone. So why the heck not ditto! IPA how would you describe my style of natter? Worth bothering ;7
-
Sure. I'm sure someone has use for a dickensian cockney pilot. :nervous:
-
Oh really squire? That's right brightened up my day it has, and that ain't no lie.
If someone would like a sample of said natter just write said line in this thread and i'll try it out :)
-
That makes me wish I had a copy of the Architect's gibberish from Matrix Reloaded
-
We could use someone to do the mission briefing/debriefings for multi as well. I already have a list put together.
-
If anybody want's a central european English voice acting I'm ready to help ;)
The only thing I need are: strict instructions - what program to use and other technical details...
-
Again, just so people are clear. PM me with a light script and i'll respond in kind with samples when i've gdone them :D
-
Can non-native-English-speaker be accepted , IP ?
-
It was never a problem for me.
-
im up for it ,.....
-
contact Skullar and Madaboutgames. Both are searching for voice-actors for their campaigns.
-
Crap. I was supposed to do voice acting and testing for Heat 'em Up and then everything went nuts in Real Lifetm and now I can't even find a working Heat 'em Up website to try to get back on the internernals for the project.
-
Ill report back later on the EACW.
For the Civil War teaser I could need a few actors as backup in case CHAOTARCH can't get the ones working on it report back. Its taking too much time anyway.
I'll be back later on that within the next days.
The roles for the BIG EACW itself are not yet ready for recording.
In case you are interested check this topic again in a few days. THX
-
send me some more lines if you need some. I remember I did the IO station for you a while ago.
-
*static sounds*..ylon Pro***** Team, do you recei****
Darkblade reporting in!*static sounds*
-
yeah. whats up, pal ?
-
what type of encoding (i.e.-setting) is used for voice files?
hip63 :p
-
GENERAL APPROACH :
To make it easy for voiceactors , if they manage to get the recordings to the campaign authors, its sufficient !
The samples are processed anyway, so stick to a common format that maintaines high quality and does not take much space. Mp3s are always fine, but actually, it doesnt matter.
-
there is a plot heavy training mission that needs two male or female voice-actors.
-
I'd like to volunteer my services
-
that's good. We got a mission here with about 80 lines of dialoge (including a many long ones and 5 briefings :) ).
I will make a thread here in a few days to announce the thing and select the actors.
I would actually prefer the get the mission voice-acted by TBP fans or team-members, only if I don't find anybody here I am going to ask in HLP's voiceactors guild.
-
I'm a fan but have outdatet knowledge of it :) my mic is a bit out of whack but should be fine shortly. I've got a list of lines already that i'm doing for someone else. Once i've got some feedback i'll let ya know if i feel worthy of continuance in this field
-
Still need voice actors for parts?
-
If you still need somone give me a PM and i'll see what i can do
-
I'm available if there's still need for voice actors. Samples in this (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,54176.0.html) thread.
-
@ all
wrote a bunch of emails / PMs
Go check. If you didn't receive, report here
[email protected]
-
so you want me to PM everybody IP? oh come on :blah: Okay, okay, I am writing the PMs.
-
Pat Tallman maybe because I could use her for my campaign and she's a fox. Past that... no preference really.
-
Hello !
There are 5 roles missing for the EACW demo, the txt files are all bundled in this ZIP : EACW_Voice.zip (http://fubar.org/TBP/Skullar/EACW_Voice.zip)
Feel free to pick at least one role.
Record the lines , save to mp3 or whatever, and send to Skullar : [email protected]
state your name, if you are taken you'll be in the credits !
Let's see if we get this stuff within this week
-
I still have a few parts left in the Earth Brakiri war. Please mail me for scripts :)
-
thanks FUBAR
-
I posted my samples in the proper VA thread with a description of myself and previous roles.
http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,42992.0.html
Others should follow suit, as prospective projects get to hear you FIRST and then PM or use the contact info you posted to said "Hey I just heard you and think you'd be great for part X, interested?".
I think it's better that way instead of chasing an actor down and then finding out you don't have a part you think fits them, in that case you've wasted everyone's time and raised the hopes of the actor for nothing.
Only people serious about staying an active FS2voice actor should go that route though... :D
-
I'll take you, but not for teaser, this one need only some old goats with deep voices to finish. :)
-
Count me in. I really dont have an accent considering I have lived in Chennai for 9 years, Dallas Texas for 7 years and Northern New Jersey for 1 year.
Count me in. I dont mind being emailed. I can spend a lot of time doing this, so any voice acting role is okay with me.
Edit: I'm a guy but im pretty young. (16)
-
Count me in if you need me, Italian accent here. Email is: [email protected]
-
Hey, I'll throw my hat in here too. I've always wanted to try my hand at some voice-acting, though I've never done any. Keep in mind, I doubt I'm very good, but if you need someone for some short lines, I'll give it a shot.
I have an American Midwestern accent with a touch of a southern drawl.
Also, I'm experimenting with some voice-mod software, so if you have any alien voices needed, I might be able to help there, too. I know most everyone in the B5 universe sound human
I don't frequent these forums very often, so either use PM or email to get me. If you just post or something, I likely won't see it for a couple weeks at least.
-
I'm new around here...but I would definitely be interested in providing voices for anyones campaigns. I'd very much like to get involved and I have numerous theatre productions on my resume.
-
sounds good. I am sure sb will contact you, maybe not right away but surely in the future. Probably, it will be me
-
Alright.....
I am looking for a replacement for GEEZER, the maniac-like character of EACW.
Please send me a PM or email ( [email protected] ) if you are interested in doing this part !
He is supposed to have a slight lunatic touch...
Thx.
Skullar
-
what a shame that we cant hire Tom Wilson ;7
Come meet the Maniac... UGLIES! ; HA, they cant touch me! ; Uh... Look what I see!
I just love this character.
-
Just extract the files from the wc3/4. The wing commander cic can help with that :)
-
But the character is only LIKE Maniac. So anywhere the files actually have him mention his pilot handle are out and can't be used. Better to make (relatively) original dialog.
-
I don't think Dekker was serious Josh  Still, no volunteers...
-
Delighted to assist if there's still a need for voice actors... upper/middle-class English accent here, but I can be flexible!
-
Well, I do have my nice 50 dollar dynamic mic now, and a pop guard to take care of those annoying P, T and other explosive consonant sounds. Maybe I can do something.

I should be able to do a wide range of voice acting for your mod - I am far too lazy to read this forum again but I am online most of the day:

I just uploaded my part in madaboutgame's Earth-Brakiri War. It was my first experience with voice acting and I was a bit shy of my mic, at first, and I felt a little intimidated :nervous: but I ended up having a lot of fun with it.
Murphy's Law was in full force for my foray into this new role. I really feel sorry for having put Shaun through the frustration of waiting so long but I ran into matters beyond my control. :warp:
Hopefully, I'll get better as I go along. That is, assuming anyone is willing to offer me future roles.
I can do characterizations but my natural speaking voice is a deep bass with a Texan drawl.
I'm up for whatever anyone is willing to send my way. Me and my cheap mic are ready! :D
-
Texan = instructor :yes:
Say "the enemy cannot push the button if you disable his hand!" that would rock
-
LOL. Yep, R. Lee Ermy is my hero. He rocked in "Full Metal Jacket", but he was god-like in "Space: Above And Beyond"!
I like Michael Ironside, but Gunny would have been awesome in "Starship Troopers" as the D.I.
Ask and ye shall recieve, Col. Dekker...
...where do I upload this recording of me trying to do my best drill-instructor voice, for all to enjoy ? ;7
-

I miss that series...............
HOO-RAH
There's anupload button here at HLP, additional options in the post reply box.
Its gonna be my critical error sound :D
-
it's a shame Skullar isn't online too often, he should take a look in here again :)
-
... to see WHAT ?
I still have no Geezer volunteer :(
-
Yes you do.
-
my voice-actor for the Operations-campaigns isn't responding anymore. I need somebody who is able to do a few pages of briefings and ingame orders in the role of Command in a few days if possible, so the campaign makes it in time for the DVD.
Volunteers, please post or send PM and tell me where to find a sample of your voice.
-
Heya Vidmaster, I have a summer holiday going on and I'm completely free for your use so if you wish, I could record those briefings and ingame orders for you.
I'm sure you have heard my voice before on several projects before but if you wish some separate samples, just let me know.
-
i know i can not try this because i dont want to however i know someone who will try this, if you will allow me i will contact him and see if i can get a voice sample that will work for you?
-
I currently not looking for voice actors, nor is any other TBP fredder (except maybe Skullar?). I always start contacting all people who posted in this thread when I am in need of actors again.
-
well now you have one in reserve!, if you need a male voice actor just ask (if one has been dropped, removed, shot or otherwise inconveniently dropped off in the middle of a desert highway with nothing to drink but Brusseled spout juice )
-
It's something I would be interested in doing. My accent is a neutral british but I've lived in wales most of my life. I remember one of the B5 Roleplay books describing welsh people as very good pilots (because wales doesnt have many roads due to the mountains it said :doubt:) But as it is I can do a very good welsh accent given that they are supposed to be very common in the earth alliance. There is one problem though....How do I upload some samples. Dont post that here it'll waste time. Just send me a message or email me. :)
-
I meant to do some voice acting here, for the EB War campaign too, but I never got started on it. I got so tired from work that I couldn't even think about something like that. Maybe I'll be able to do something after I get back from my trip to Florida.
-
I'm not available for voice acting now.
-
I would like to help out, please put me on the reserve list as well.
-
by posting here, you are on the list
-
So the same goes for me, too?
I'm a German native speaker, but so far I think - and have been told - that my English skills and my pronunciation are quite good (living with a British flatmate surely helps with this).
Thus, if duty calls ;), I'm in, if you'll have me.
-
I am available for voice acting. Contact is listed in my profile.
-
I would love to help out in voice acting for this project.
Let me know.
Send me a message or shoot me an e-mail if you need me.
Thanks
SH
-
Hey Vidmaster,
I am sorry for abbandoning the Operations missions. I guess something happened with my email, as I stopped hearing from you after you sent me the script the second time. I tried to send you the recordings that weekend, but I guess you never got them, since I never heard back. I tried emailing a couple more times with no responses.
Well, with that said, I am still available for some VA work. However, I have a new email to send all files to. I don't think I can trust my yahoo email with these anymore, so if anyone wants me to do another part, email me at hidalgo (at) go-mow.com.
-
Hey Vid,
Samples here: http://www.4shared.com/file/66445503/3248397d/Getters_samples.html
-
You know, Getter, after listening to your samples, you sound a lot like Vir. If there was ever a Centauri campaign, that'd be a definite plus for you.
I also have some samples. Sorry, my mic has a few issues, and I usually have to clean it up on my own. Metallica tinge and high treble for a lot of the files. But, see if you like it.
LeGuille's Voice Samples (http://www.4shared.com/file/66470753/3cc593b4/LeGuille_Samples.html)
I use GoldWave 5.23, and some other small stuff to make things like the Classified file a bit cleaner and more appealing.
-
yeah, more actors to contact after FH2261 has been released. Keep'em coming.
:)
-
Posting this for general purposes.

You know, I have so many imitated voices that my wife is telling me I need to get a job at it professionally. I've never done it before, but I could probably do an alright job. I have been waiting for a B5 based video game for so long now, and just happened to stumble onto TBP. I am thoroughly impressed, as I run the Babylon 5 facebook group and put the link for your mod on the group page.
-
Would you listen to a British guy with a Manchester accent who hasn't got the deepest voice?
I'm looking through the voice acting word doc now, if I were to voice random lines how many files would it be ok to PM/e-mail?
-
I might help with voice acting, I prefer dialogs instead of long briefings though.
-
Here's my samples http://www.4shared.com/dir/10650277/80c4ab68/sharing.html

Thanks ! Saw your posts in EACW topic. Will report back on those... :)

I'm not available for voice acting now.
I'm available again :D

I'd love to get some voice acting in for anyone's project. My default voice is somewhat of an amalgam of Midwest and Mid Atlantic American. I can attain a variety of different accents and age ranges including virtually all US dialects, most Anglo accents, most Slavic, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, and possibly even some Asiatic accents. I can do anything from short snippets of combat dialog to long winded briefings and reports. I can also give different "flavors" of characters including yellow bellied newbie pilots, tough as nails drill sergeants, trashy freighter pilots, seasoned fleet officers, etc. I can also convey emotion in my acting. Unless you want me to, I'll never deliver a completely monotonous line. Email me allies_vs_axis(at)yahoo(dot)com if you would like me to voice act. I am available until August 4th when I ship out for BCT
As a sample for now, here was a Machinima film I had a supporting voice in. I did the voice of the General in the voice over scene. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cA9tAtDVprQ

Hi all/to whom it may concern.
I contacted IPAndrews who said I should post in here.
If you are still looking for Voice Actors for TBP please let me know.
IPAndrews has my details, but if you want to ask me specific questions or have specific script, please feel free to contact me via PM.
Regards,

-
I am still looking for anyone who could do Major Ryan.
And I will have to contact ALL my voiceactors in the next days. Weeks have passed, lets see if they have done something in the meantime...
-
Hi Skullar...
I did some work for Earth Brakiri war. Samples below. If you ever need voice acting, just PM me

Volunteers please check ITNOTE topic

My samples are in the voice actors sample thread. (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,42992.20.html) I'm glad to do pretty much any part for which I'm suited; in most cases, I can work very promptly, having work back within the day if needed.
-
once my mic comes in, i am glad to do the voice acting for any human, vorlon, minbari, centauri, or narn. if i have an idea of what the species sounds like, i can do it.
-
any one that needs voice actors for male roles private message me with context and script for sample. i am only able to send sample to yahoo or hotmail accounts, as my outlook express does not work right now
-
Cross-post from the Voice Acting forum:
Bumping this again. The roles are varied enough that I could make use of any voice type. For those who don't know what TBP is like in-game I posted some videos below.

Send a PM to everybody who ever posted here. Most are probably not even active anymore :nervous:
-
Well, I used to be around here as CaptJosh. I was supposed to voice Jimmy "Geezer" Brightman for Skullar's EA Civil War campaign, but he dropped out for a while, then I dropped out for a couple years. Since I've been back, I've looked around, but haven't seen anything about that campaign. Is it still being made? Or has it gone vapor?

Wow. And it didn't warn me. Sorry folks.
