Which Chapter are you most looking forward to after reading the descriptions of each?
-
Oh heck! he's back! welcome devrous! First of all, I'd go with the preservation of all FS2H assets (just in case) like the models and tables, but a human vs human was sounds good too!
Where have you been?
-
I was really hoping for the Insurrection to actually appear in Halo Reach, but Bungie doesn't really like Human-Human conflict.
It'll be interesting to see how you work on that if at all.
-
I want to fly Seraphs. Humans suck and deserve to be purged.
-
I'd like to actually fight the Covenant. Having not read any of the books, human-on-human combat doesn't really strike the Halo chord for me.
-
I've read all the books. More interesting to me than fighting aliens.
-
While you can't deny the 'cool factor' of fighting the beautiful but deadly Covenant ships, at the core it's the same old tale: humans fighting aliens. The Halo universe does an excellent job of expanding the different races of the Covenant, giving them motives and culture. However, the human vs human conflicts have a the capacity to go much deeper. Civil war, civil unrest (especially in today's world; have you seen the Middle East lately?) and combat amongst ourselves goes back to the beginnings of humanity. We can much more easily understand the minds of other humans than we ever could an alien species. Also, the rebel factions in the Haloverse act much more deviously and less overt. When the Covenant attacks you have a very clear-cut goal of taking down their ships or perishing. Fighting rebels, it isn't just kill or be killed; there is room for negotiation and a chance to minimize the loss of life. That adds a whole world of complexity to the struggle.

@MatthTheGeek: I've got pilot-able Seraphs and they are, in a word, overpowered  Don't worry, you'll be able to get behind the wheel of one and blast the heretics to your heart's content.
-
I think the civil wars would introduce the plot in an interesting way...
-
Chapter 3, to be honest. It is time for mankind to strike back and give the Covenant a taste of their own medicine.
-
I went chapter one, for me its the least explored area so plenty of scope to doing what ever and then when you have a feel for things you can progress onto more explored areas of the time line
-
Ez. Pew pew ebil aliens wins ezpz.
-
Well I've kind of wanted this to be a Halo game, and since Halo games are usually about aliens...
-
I don't mind/care either way, Halo has a brilliant storyline. UNSC vs Innies and UNSC vs Covenant have a different timeline and story structure which involves different characters, histories and locations. As long as you have a plan for the chapters, you can expend them in a way that while being creative, the game play still remains canon.
I would also like to take this opportunity to greet you! Welcome back!
-
There will actually be nothing canon about the gameplay.
-
So... Which Chapter is being worked on ATM?
-
All of them, to be honest, Snail
I'm making sure things are balanced between the ships and weapons. Of course 'balance' is a relative term, but I didn't want to design all of Chapter 1 only to find that I made something way to powerful/weak and have to redo all of the other ships to compensate. This approach means I'll be able to start in Chapter 1 and jump right into Chapter 2 without missing a beat. Also, the interface, HUD, sounds and models (at least human ones) are common across all of them. The Chapter 1 files will simply have all of the Covenant items omitted, and once Chapter 2 comes out it will just be additional content packed in there. That way you can go back and forth between playing the different Chapters with no change to the VP files (backwards compatible).

the human vs human conflicts have a the capacity to go much deeper. Civil war, civil unrest
Hello NTF :P
Yes, I would like to fight the rebels. HOWEVER, Covenant come first! *pew pew*
