conversion of AVI files to ogg
Are there any plans to convert the avi files used by some TBP campaigns to ogg files so they will work with 3.6.10 FSOpen?
There are AVIs for Infestation, Survivor and the Credits for the Earth-Brakiri war.
Normal people believe that if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Engineers believe that if it isn't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet.
The difference between Mechanical Engineers and Civil Engineers is:
Mechanical Engineers build weapons.  Civil Engineers build targets
An optimist sees the glass half full; the pessimist sees it half empty. An engineer sees that the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

well, that's MadAboutGames' business.
I wasn't aware that avi doesn't work at all anymore. If yes, isn't that pretty stupid? Why dropping support?

FSOpen 3.6.9 was the last to support AVI.  The 3.6.10 only supports mve and ogg

As I understand it, avi support was dropped to remove the need for external codecs to decode the video.

Still supported. Although I would recommend transcoding it to ogg vorbis, for space saving purposes.

Re: conversion of AVI files to ogg
A lot of my older stuff like infestation etc used avi.  When i found it was no longer being supported I managed bto convert all 25 Earth Brakiri War cutscenes to ogg.  The Star Fury pilot mission pack which was also done at the time had no video.
