Today I tried opening launcher by simply clicking on it as usual but it just kept bouncing in my dock then an error came up with the {ignore} {report} options saying it quit unexpectedly.... I tried deleting and reinstalling it but I had the same problem

Sounds like you're on OS X, this should probably be in Cross Platform Support.  It's not even multiplayer related.  Anyway, try deleting cmdline_pxo.cfg, or something like that.  Seems that worked for someone else recently with Soulstorm's launcher.  Also, you could just run the FS2 executable without the launcher and it will use whatever settings you had last, if that's all you needed.
