FS1-era GTA roundel. There's a little pixelation in the moon logo, but you'll have to shrink the image to fit it onto a texture anyway:

I'll upload a whole set of these roundels if anyone's interested. They're 460x460 .psd files. I'm thinking of making an HoL insignia but I don't know of a source image that's hi-res enough.
(No Shivan roundels, sorry. Shivans don't need or want to make symbolic representations of themselves.)

I was just going to make a black stencil of the HoL logo. The problem is that I don't know of an image of the logo that is large enough (at least 256x256).

Nice idea, I once made a load of roundels (I didn't know that they were called that at the time, also some of them were not circular badges) from real-world air forces from a old game to use as squad insignia. I think they're on my old desktop. I'm not too sure of them being on Vasudan craft though.

The roundel used by the Fifth Columnist rebels in Twist of Fate. Having trouble picking out rebels from friendlies in a dogfight? You won't have any trouble at all when the enemy have these things painted on their ships:

In Twist of Fate, yes, and it's a heavy fighter (a much older design than the Hercules), not a bomber. The Athena is a bomber variant of the Thor.

Just FYI, FS2_Open supports TGA and DDS files as squad logos (just keep them 128^2 sized so that they show up in the interface as well as in-game renders).

Thus you get full alpha channel, no need for that PCX green=transparent trickery. It's quite beneficial in reducing the aliasing effects on the edges of the logo.

Uh, the green background is for convenience. The insignia are PSD files and the roundel object is pasted directly onto the texture. The textures I'm using are all TGA. They'll probably be converted to DDS before release assuming recompressing some former DDS textures doesn't ruin their quality.

I paste them on with 35-50% translucency. Sometimes they'll need to be stretched horizontally or vertically to appear circular on the ship itself due to texture stretching on UV maps.

Freespace2 in triple head , hercule cockpit view, i turneds off hud as it's horribly stretched .

No need to tell taht flying around colossus in triple screen+track ir is quite of an experience!
