Yes, or GTF Leto as my mod calls it. I made that icon myself. The image was taken from the ship lab, brightened and given higher contrast, and set in the shield pieces from the SF Dragon icon. They follow the wings perfectly. And speaking of the Leto, my modified texture:

It's definitely not useless, it seems to work okay. It might've been tweaked.

What's the project that's using this?

My post-Capella mod (working title: The Third War) set in the year 2393. It's currently pretty early in development, and not as high priority as Twist of Fate. That reskin is actually pretty simple--I used the "range" feature in Hue and Saturation in PhotoImpact--first I used to it to turn the bluish-gray metal plain gray (making other blue parts separate objects so they would be spared) and then to turn the red trim bits blue. After that I used some careful cutting and pasting to replace the upper wing surface with the logoless underside, and then pasted my GTVA roundel on. The blue glowy bits on the "intakes" are different and more Wing Commander-ish but you can't see that.

Putting shield meshes on fighters is actually something Modelview32 is still good for. You can stretch or squash the shield mesh along X, Y, and Z axes, allowing for a good fit.

That much I know, but there isn't a way that I know of to change the shape itself to allow better conformity.

In that case you keep trying shield meshes from different fighters and deforming them until you find one that fits.

Messing with dockpointed Mjolnirs...
Shoved one onto every dockpoint on the Sparta and had it broadside a Sath.



Funnily, mounting six of them in close proximity causes them to kill each other through friendly beam fire.
Also, the ship starts twitching around at speeds of up to 480 ms^-1. It's kinda funny.

I would love to ee that. Imagine a campaign with a ragtag group of humans and Vasudans fighting an overwhelming Shivan force that's wiped out most of the GTVA military. An Elysium or Argo mounted Mjolnir might be their only way to destroy shivan corvettes or better.

Actually, that'd be sweet overall. "Here. Take three fighters, seventeen Tempest's each and a bunch of Subachs and disarm that Moloch. When it's safe, we'll come in an blast it with modified transport and freighters." It'd be like Terminator 4... IN SPACE! and with fewer Osprey's and Warthogs, but you get the idea).
