Depends on the scenario in my opinion, but thanks. Did you have the opportunity to have a look at the first Storm Chasers campaign? It's only six missions long.

Why? The GTVA definitely had more ships than those that were named in canon FS1/ST/FS2. Given that the name fits with the naming scheme (cities/greek/norse), then its fine IMO.
It ticks me off a lot more when people use a used name for the wrong ship class, especially if the said name is a friggin ship class in canon FS.

It's justifiable in one case: In old, FS1 era campaigns I sometimes see ships named like ones from FS2, because at that time, there was no FS2.
For example, I think that I've seen GTD Hecate (Orion class) somewhere.

Of course, but I like seeing ships we know and love appearing once and again. Helps with the immersion and also makes me actually care about the ship (seeing the Messana or Carthage getting blown up is probably going to draw more of a reaction than a new ship which was created just for the mission).

Doesn't hurt anyone anyway.
