A lot of good shots in here but (aside from Woolie who I've never worked with/played anything by) I'm starting to think the community may need a FREDder bootcamp.

I would link you to the TOF demo but changes in FSO broke half of the missions in that demo.

Which one of those pictures promotes the need for such a thing? (I haven't paid a lot of attention here, however) After all, the priority here is pretty shots, rather than sensible missions.

Looks like there's a large tendency towards BoEs going down here.  Perhaps that's what it is.

Rampant speculation aside, I would be down with a FREDder bootcamp--I need to legitimately learn how to FRED, not just dabble in test missions.

I don't recognize the Centurion. What is it?

The Emperor looks great though.

The Centurion is a Calypso class ship. Corvette. Or did I make it a frigate...?

That shouldn't really be happening...

Uh? Ever heard of FRED Academy? http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?board=125.0

Yes, but how active is that, and how much help do newbies actually get?  It's more of a "here's a story, now go FRED for it."

The autopilot code is broken. The current versions of those missions use a hack to make them work again (making the player Alpha 1 and faking ship names so they appear to be Alpha 2), but the original missions were broken by the autopilot-without-being-the-wingleader bug that is still not fixed after all this time.

Re: A celebration of FreeSpace
I've reported it some time ago, does that means it's not yet fixed?
Also, can't you make Alpha 2 the wingleader (I didn't tried that, but maybe it could work)?

Active enough for me to make a recent post. Maybe if there were comments...

SypheDMar,

I was rejected by Fred Academy. I didn't get high enough on my SATs.

[But you get like 700 points for just typing your name?]

Yes I know, but I spelled it wrong...

Re: A celebration of FreeSpace
It looks somewhat awkward, what mod is it (and what settings)?

hi,
sorry for the long time to anwser, yeah its a littble awkward, but i hadnt any better sreenshot on my hand to post, hes a bit older (over 3 years :D) and forget to write it, yeah im a bit scatterbrained   ;)
but i had find he still look good enough *g* so i decide to post it.
the settings, was maximum with 2x2 SSAA with 4x MSAA (hybrid antialaising on the geforce) and 16 AF.
the game settings was maximum, for the cmd settings, uff cant remember.

the mod is warzone and its on of the last missions were the hecate destroyer (forget the name :D) is under assult of a ravana.

Those look like the 3.6.8 beams...

yeah, its older.
i had shoot this for a website and had tried to get the right arc over a hour and with the beams on it.

Hecate does look nice in that picture. Crisp and all.

thanks :)

yeah you've got some pretty recent effects going on in there.  Most notably that shockwave effect.
