Why the Colly's kill count only happens on the first two Orions?

Re: A celebration of Freespace
If you were an enemy commander and you had 7 Orion Destroyers at your disposal and you wanted to take down the Colossus, would you decide to 'play fair"?!?  No.  You would find the weakest, least defended point on the Colly, and the strongest point on your Orions, and go for the kill.  That's how war is.  You don't fight with one hand behind your back.  This isn't Neverland.  You do that and you get badly hurt at best, killed more likely.  If you want to be merciful, disable your opponent as fast as you can and then maybe he'll see you are actually trying to be nice to him when you don't finish him off when he is at your mercy.  Probably not, but you can always hope.  (Look at the Japanese after WWII.)

How disappointing...you guys destroyed the little hope I had for the Colossus showing off reasonable firepower. :sigh:
With the rapid increase of FS fan-made campaigns, we're giving the GTVA a harder time with more violence and genocide.

Or don't. *shudder*

Btw, I wonder how many orions a colly could knock out of the diamond before it explodes. Or, if that's even remotely possible given their inertias.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Apparently, during my last pilot profile clean-up, I accidentally deleted my SGWP2 pilot, so I have to go through the entire campaign all over again.

Here are two kill lists celebrating the wonders of flying Lucifer debris.

I've never played SGWP2.

As I hear the campaign is always heavily criticized. Is playing it so "boring and extremely unsatisfiable" or "so bad it's fun to watch the error"?

If you like blowing lots of ships up and simple mission design, SGWP2 is good. For some of us, it actually comes full circle and enters the "so bad it's good" territory.

I originally thought SGWP2 was poor mission design, but the more I play it, the more I'm convinced that it's one big joke.

Yeah, that mission with the procession of Lucifers (and a Ravana) usually has a very high wingman mortality rate from the Lucifer's huge blast. It's used deliberately in JAD.

Dammit I want the next JAD already. Want it so bad.
[16:57] <CommanderDJ> What prompted the decision to split WiH into acts?
[16:58] <battuta> it was long, we wanted to release something
[16:58] <battuta> it felt good to have a target to hit
[17:00] <RangerKarl> not sure if talking about strike mission, or jerking off
[17:00] <CommanderDJ> WUT
[17:00] <CommanderDJ> hahahahaha
[17:00] <battuta> hahahaha
[17:00] <RangerKarl> same thing really, if you think about it

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Finally finished SGWP2, and I took five more screenshots along the way. Here they are:

This is why a Dragon is difficult to kill. If you have seven or so Sekhmets attempting to attack it with Maxim fire from one general direction, they are unlikely to hit it on lower difficulties.

Wow! Fantastic conclusion, Head Admiral York!

Too many zeroes...

I didn't know that this was a fun campaign. Perhaps I should play it someday, after all.

To be quite honest I did like the campaign, and I've said it a couple times before. Really, it isn't that bad. Relentless was much worse and I really didn't enjoy Dawn of Sol that much either, I'd pick SGWP2 over a decent number of campaigns.

SGWP2 is actually not a terrible campaign. I'd say it's actually pretty decent in comparison to a fair number of campaigns out there.

SGWP2 is the B-campaign of FS2. "So bad it's awesome" and a must-play.
