Re: A celebration of Freespace
Look at it from the side. The shape at the ends are larger than at the center where the entry point is. I didn't say it was similar as in they both had spinning rings, as they're different in that regard.

What the heck are you talking about? A Lagrange point is a mathematical -

Independence War's L-Point.

Oh, not a real Lagrange point, might want to bring that up earlier next time  :nervous:

I guess I'll have to, didn't think the first thing people would think I meant was the real thing. :nervous:

Why would people not think of the real thing when you're using a term for a real thing? :p

Cause anyone who even slightly knows what the real thing is knows it's not the real thing?
It's called a Starlance Node.
Starlance Nodes look like FS nodes in WoD... or is that gonna change?

If I'm not wrong, then it's going to be what Andrew released.

I can't say for sure though...Spoon might, or might not use it.

"That [HUD representation of a] jump node looks like a [HUD representation of a] Lagrange point" perhaps?

Re: A celebration of Freespace
I wasn't looking at anything for inspiration for this, so the appearance similarities are coincidental.
My Efforts:
SF Knight

20:08:19   AndrewofDoom: Though I find it mildly disturbing that a loli is giggling to mass destruction.
20:10:01   Spoon: I find it mildly arrousing
20:10:07   AndrewofDoom: Woah
20:10:15   Spoon: sound like my kind of loli
20:10:21   Spoon: and im not even a lolicon

One thing why I REALLY love FRED are texture replacements:

Fura'ngle Orion, the most colorful destroyer ever.

The space-circus-asteroid-installation

Oh, and I love bloom. (well, the Archons look a little bit weird do you think?)

"Ka-BOOOOOOOOM!!!!"
"Uh, Sir we can hear the explosion."
"No you can't, there is no air in space. Sound can't travel through a vacuum!"

Someone should make a semi-transparent mod for FS1 / FS2... sorta like the anime cell shading mod.  :D

Re: A celebration of Freespace
A little known fact is that the GTA Charybdis functions using Fura'ngle technology. Or given Fura'ngle nature, actual Fura'ngles (spinning).

Charybdises are already fragile, this doesn't change anything...

What about Fura'ngle textures? Let's give those oversized ships a shiny new look!

The Sechat-Hor

The Gigas

The Icanus
