I always hated the deathstar explodion, even more so after they added that shockwave, because they could have done so much more.

Play Empire at war. The space battle-map of Endor Yavin IV has some nice Deathstar debris in its orbit.

The Second Death Star explosion is even better because it has Lando Calrissian screaming in glee as a fireball erupts behind him and as John William's music soars, the Second Death Star explodes!

Its debris would've probably sucked down a wormhole that was created by its hypermatter reactor.
A small voice in my head tells me they are have followed us here in the Milky Way. They follow us until we are dead at their feet. We are nomands of the stars, no longer the race that was loved by the Great Elders. My name is Kyral and this is my story of survival.

There is no sanctuary for us, in this Universe. We will fight the Terror for one last time on this Shining World. May the Transcendent judge us kindly in the Life Stream.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
well, that's what happens, there are bits where the death star was that the fireball was not and it instantly turns from gray grebles to black space.

I watched this over and over, but not, it doesn't disappear. The parts that were not covered in the initial fireball, actually remained behind. You can still see the faint gray sphere which is the first deathstar

Second however, as seen by the two photos below, indeed confirm what Bobboau has mentioned

Now that this has been concluded, back to Freespace stuff

I reckon some awesome Freespace Open screen shots will help us change the subject.  :D

The day somebody does a HTL Bravos will probably be the day HLP has no WIP campaigns.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Unless Axem would need it for just another JAD.  :)
Perhaps after Mediavps would replace every other lo-poly and lo-res thing in FS, they'd do a HTL bravos crewed by HLPers.
But that's pure speculation, I have absolutely no evidence on this being considered in any way.  :)

Re: A celebration of Freespace
I know people actually talked about doing that a couple of years ago, though I don't think anyone started on the model.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
What it comes down to for us FSU artists is this...

We could work on an HLP Bravos, OR we could work on a model that people will actually see more than the one time they type the code just to see the Bravos.

I know it's used in JAD at least once, maybe twice.
But I can't think of anything else, it's not in DEM or FS3 (Unless one of the later chapters ends up using it), and there aren't any other joke campaigns besides these three to my knowledge.

Re: A celebration of Freespace
Yeah, I don't think it's something that should ever be a high priority.  But if the whole fleet is pretty much finished and a modeler is feeling bored one day, who knows?

Technically twice (JAD2 and JAD3)

And now... thrice! And more!
