Title: And what was that again?...
Post by: Styxx on June 15, 2001, 02:27:00 pm
Well, I didn't see much discussion about our "Intercepted Transmissions" (click here (//"http://terra.sourceforge.net/storyline.html")) section, and about the content of the first messages posted there, so I wanted to know what you all think of it.    (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

What do you believe the Vis Magnus Project is, and what's it's relation to the Conversion Matrix? What does the Conversion Matrix do, and how does it work? Let's get some discussion running here, it's been all too quiet...    (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

By the way, anyone who finds out about it before I post the next messages by monday gets a cookie!    (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

I think the Vis Magnus Project is some evil plan to take control of the whole universe, and the Conversion Matrix is where they convert stuff...  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)

Hey, if I told the truth the surprise would be ruined, cuz I read the storyline...  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/rolleyes.gif)

Hmmm... maybe I should tell the truth!  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/evil.gif)

I'm pretty sure the conversion matrix is a big superweapon on the Apoc. I figured this because in the Poor Setekh thread you tried to fire at Setekh with it multiple times.

I'm 90% sure that the Vis Magnus project is related with the Nyx and the conversion Matrix.

Well, everybody knows the CM is the main weapon on the Apocalypse by now, but what exactly can it do?

Alright Conversion Matrix...

Does it- turn whatever it fires at into a keg of Bosch Beer?

Ummm does it slave whatever it hits to its mother brain? (if you've played Wrazone 2100 and you know what the NEXUS link is then you know what I mean)

I serioulsly don't know, guess I'll have to wait.

P.S. Does it have to do with the spinning stabilizer?

No, it doesn't turn anything into Bosch Beer. No, it doesn't slave anything to it's mother brain. And yes, it has everything to do with the spinning stabilizer.

More info to come soon...  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

It's a knossos beam! It grabs sections of ships and thrusts them into subspace, while the rest of the ship is in normal space, thus ripping the hull in half!  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif) (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

thats my idea Snipes (see GTSmC Neptune), and I would guess that it converts matter into antimater thus turning the ships hull into a vastly powerfull explotion, like something that if fired at a planet would rip it in half.

Hey the c-m simply turns matter into energy disrupting molecules and atoms. The energy obtained from the reaction is taken by the c-m itself, that is also why the c-m has been originally projected as a reactor to alimentate the vis magnus.

Oops... i guess i'm too late  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Oh well =)

I just read all the logs on the CM, and there seems to be an inconsistency... in an early log, the energy feedback (I assume that's what you mean by "double-back") is described as an accidental side effect, but in later logs it's stated that energy production was the main purpose of the CM project.

Huh?

Oops.  A bit of a slipup there..... It's one of those things where it makes sense on the inside, but to someone who doesn't know what's going on, it makes less sense.  Sorry bout that.
