What does tStrings.tbl do? It looks important.

It contains various generic text strings that are used throughout the game. Strangely enough, the file also has all of the mission briefing/message/etc. text, the tech room information and everything in both english and german, but I think the game only uses a small part of it.

Dude, they did[/i] make it all up as they went along!

Anyway, the point was to make it easy to convert FS2 into the European (read "German") release.  Ever notice those funny numbers after the text strings in the ships.tbl and the weapons.tbl and the briefings and debriefings and so on?  Those refer to which string they are in the tStrings.tbl.  For each string number there is an English version and its German equivalent in that table.
