Well in my efforts to resurrect Vasudan Imperium I have run into a little bit of a snag. I started FREDing and on save it crashes and the save file cannot be opened. I can use the .bak file.
It seems to crash each time I change the custom wing names so I started troubleshooting to try and find exactly when it is that it crashes.
I added a ship, saved, I made a wing, saved, changed custom wing names, saved ... etc.
I am creating a new mission for Vasudan Imperium so I am using the custom wings: Aries, Virgo, Libra, Cancer, Pisces.
I can create Aries wing and save the game fine, but as soon as I add Virgo FRED crashes and I need to use the .bak file and cannot make any progress.
Please give some advice as to what I may be missing in making custom wing names, I went to editors, mission specs, custom wings and changed all the wings appropriately. I wonder if there is something that I am forgetting.
It's annoying that now that I want to get back into this I hit a significant road block that will only delay this further :( :banghead:

Are you using 3.7.2 Final? Can you try running a debug FRED executable and provide the debug log of the crash?

ah apparently my link on my desktop is attached to 3.7.0 instead of 3.7.2 ill give that a shot...
EDIT: It works :)
