Title: Timoke. No, delete last Fokker Triplane. No

You damn-- okay.  All right.  Whew.  Jackpot!  Rybak's password is "fortune favors the bold"!  Log in, download everything you possibly can, and tell everyone you know.  Tell the press, tell your friends, tell the ham radio operators, tell anyone you can so they can't cover it up.  It's the only way we can OSHI-!↓♠bÄ<╥º↕☺╥⌡}R;ôAIf#ó/▌éx►M9y▀¼√┌x┌┤X@║¼Θf♣╙Ö#á╦ö╦▲,"S4%┴►mgw┴▼>f╨₧☺í╒»¡>\@═¡ΦV¥H8Fn*╚(LE¢ë▀»8`Å=≤CδSm█L·^û╡3Æ¢■î2♥2≡EF5├v≤¬/↑Ñ‼╕g2:↨◄%╤E⌡oU╓*Y8êC╜>∟╤v(d*§É₧i╒¶╢╥╢ö╚uâFº3s<╖wæe≥▄[UuálP>VXñ4┌╪<gè'sNO CARRIER

did you get to see any of the files? I saw a whole bunch of them until I tried to download them.

Damn it, I didn't really get to poke around before I was completely locked out.  That's certainly an ominous message...and, I fear, a rather ominous end for our friend Aadarsh. :(

I wonder about the thread title, though.  Those words look too coherent to be random gibberish.  The first sentence in his post is odd, too.  Was he trying to tell us something else?

Is this username/password no longer valid?  I tried logging in and no variation of:  [email protected](or.gta) and "fortune favors the bold"  seems to get me in.

And no caps on andreas.rybak

EDIT: Oh damn. The very first link I clicked locked me out for good. Does anyone know what's in there?
Title: Re: Dangling thread commentary
Post by: Grizzly on December 22, 2008, 02:57:16 am
The "Upload files" stuff got me into a honeypot stuff like thing. What else was there was not visible for me because I forgot to install Abobe Flash Player after the re-install yesterday. *grumbles*.

Seems Aardarsh connection got shotdown as well. Oh well, as long as they do not find that quantum-transporter (read Michael Crichton's timeline!) we have been using to transfer data messages trough time and space, we should not be in trouble :P.

We could also be capable of poking around some more by using proxy's. problem is that the number of avaible proxy's will run out as well.

The thread title makes no sense to me either. Delete the last Fokker Dr1?

It seems that "resources" is the only thing that doesn't get you busted instantly.

This is the window you get, by the way:

Dammn them GTIs, they won't let us see anything. Some good software or 24/7 protection stuff. OR they already knew Rybak's account was suspicious and just left it as a bait. Hell, perhaps even this message from Aadarsh was a fake; a bait set by the GTI ?

Oh, Topgun, what's this about readme ? How did you get it ?

I kind of figured that, I just have no idea where you're seeing the README in the first place.

The Terran historian had made a report of Deneb III for Admiral Amentep and stored it on his personal node (http://www.sectorgame.com/goober/denebiii.html as per this post (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,57704.msg1171732.html#msg1171732)).

According to Darius, There are only two ways to go from here. "Upload Resources" isn't needed, because we're downloading something, so that leaves either "Messages" or "Resources".

When you go in, you get my last attachment.

Between the three options (Upload Resource, Messages and Resources), only one of them is correct, and as per my previous post, it's not "Upload Resource" because we're downloading something.

The moment you hit the wrong option, YOU_ARE_BUSTED, so don't be a pillock and open every single option in tabs because that won't work!

Here is the readme.txt that comes out of the Deneb III file, which in turn can be found in the Holonet under Resources -> Deneb III.

Quote from: readme.txt
CONGRATULATION!  A WINNER IS YOU!

Eh, sorry everyone.  There's nothing here.  This is not a cop-out; there *is* actually supposed to be something here, and it's supposed to be awesome, but it's not finished yet. >.>

We do have something else that we might be able to offer as a consolation prize, though.  All you have to do is solve one more puzzle:

179

And, incidentally, if anyone lets slip the contents of this file, or this ZIP, or the solution to the puzzle, or how they happened to find it, you can expect a two-week ban from HLP.  Keep it secret, keep it safe, and don't be a spoilsport. :)

Cheerio!

The penultimate paragraph is now nullified as per Goober.

I finally figured out that Deneb III was probably the way to go from some of the posts on the last page, but I was still locked out at the time, and the proxies I was trying weren't getting any results, so I thought that maybe I was wrong.  I guess waiting around a bit would have saved me the trouble. :p At least I finally have the thing now, for what it's worth.

I originally figured that the end result of this whole affair would be us getting to play the final campaign some time before it was publicly released.  Goober mentioned in a PM to me a while back that we were close to "the big prize at the end," which really reinforced that idea.  That's why I was really surprised when ST:R was out promptly on Christmas Eve; the thought of the grand prize having so short a time frame, and of all of us who were locked out before we even realized what we should be doing to get it, would really sit sour with me.  I'm glad this isn't the case, though, and that we have at least one more goodie to look forward to when it's completed. :)

A day before the release of ST:R, Goober said that it was down to the wire for the release of the campaign.

The good thing is that now everyone who knows how to come here is at the same point. The ones who've reached 179 on their own have done it before the rest, while the remainder have caught up because the ones who reached 179 on their own have told them how to do so.

All that really is left is that grand finale, and I'm looking forward to it. :D
