RELEASE: CATACLYSM BETA 1.1.1
NeonShivan:
Cataclysm Version 1.1.1 is Released to the Masses
In 2367, the Shivans blew up Capella. What followed was 10 years of no subspace, no interstellar travel, and no communications. In 20 years, the Terran and Vasudan societies of the galaxy arose to a new, reshuffled universe filled with new and old faces emerging from the dark.
In a somewhat impulsive decision, here's Cataclysm in its completed* form. Cataclysm Version 1.1.1 contains the following goodies compared to its previous version:
* 22 Playable Missions
* 3 ingame cutscenes
* Two new weapons
* New soundtrack
* Small balance changes
* New custom cb_default animation
Cataclysm galaxy node map, relevant to the campaign.

Improved the Helios AAC damage output to put it more in line with the new Obsidian cannon
New Rework - Vasudan Ships:
Although not seen during the initial release, Vasudan ships were still apart of the modification. The ships were radically changed so they are more consistent with each other.

If I missed you in the credits, please let me know! I have a poor memory and taking long breaks in between development spurts doesn't help.
How To Install: It is highly recommended to install the modification via the Knossos mod launcher tool developed by ngld.
Some disclaimers below for you, my favorite peeps.
This mod is still a beta, due to long periods of no development and my inability to maintain proper documentation it is guaranteed that I've missed some critical game breaking bugs but as of the time of writing the campaign functions and operates as designed. I welcome everyone to try to break it so I may learn new ways to make my current and future modifications sturdy as well as learn how to do better note keeping. Grammar and spelling mistakes are also possible, as well as formatting issues that arise when taking words from a word processing engine and slapping it into FRED, only for Freespace not to properly understand that an " ' " is still an " ' " no matter what form it chooses to wear. I've done my best in between my development spurts to comb through for these issues but I won't be surprised if I missed a few.
Now, you may ask: "Neon, if it isn't complete then why release it?"
Simple, it'll never be released otherwise. I've reached a point in my on and off development where polishing is requiring far more energy than I'd like. I'd rather release an "unfinished" modification for people to enjoy and/or grill than not release anything at all. It's been awhile since I've done anything as big as this, let alone actually finish it so frankly I don't really remember what else I need to do, because again, aforementioned lack of note taking is biting me in the ass. Again. My lack of notes is actually why my "patch notes" are, for the most part, useless. I know I made changes to certain things, but because it was so long ago and I didn't make notes, I don't remember what I did.
Nonetheless, I do hope you guys enjoy it, my writing skills are by no means up to snuff with Blueplanet or Solaris, but I do intend to take whatever feedback that's given here to improve upon it. I'd like to be as good as Darius or Battuta someday, but I'll never learn if I don't release anything. Have fun and fly recklessly.
Additional Note: Campaign was developed and tested on Insane.

Found a progress killing bug in Cataclysm in the mission "Bull Run." After the objectives are complete I can't RTB, whether inside or outside the Vega node. This needs to get fixed
Overall tho, digging the update! :)

I forgot to mention...there is a bug in another mission. I forgot what the mission is called, but you have to escort a bunch of bombers to hit the shivan jugg's nav systems. They go above the jugg when the nav is on the bottom of the ship. They then fly to and orbit the forward guns. I had to use archers to take out the navs myself which was painful to do
