A bit more progress on the 3D model:



I've decided to ditch the original boxes and replace them with missile launchers from Esarai's Solaris.

It certainly does have a sort of Homeworld 2 feel to it. Trying to think if there's any other universe that uses similarly shaped ships...

There's Starfarer, a great indie game. Their ships are slightly shorter though.

Hmmm... is there a way to turn down the illumination in that second to last shot of the spaceship?  It's so bright I can't see the new details.  Perhaps, if you're using both AO and a raytraced lamp, leave it on AO alone.

The starfarer ship you are making is pretty badd ass my man. I like how the back end of the ship slopes upward allowing all the main turrets to fire forward. Good design. It has a flagship sort of feel to it.

Edit: Starfarrer is a game not the name of the ship you are making!
