Title: Wiki stuff that requires Admin attention
Post by: Shade on May 26, 2011, 07:01:49 am
This thread is for requesting changes to the wiki which will require the involvement of an HLP admin. If what you need done can be handled by a normal Wiki admin (aka sysop), such as deletions, post about it elsewhere in this forum. I will keep a list of currently requested changes in this post, so any admin with time on his hands and knowledge/access to the wiki won't have to waste half of that time wading through this or other threads.

Note, just because a request ends up here doesn't mean it is necessarily doable by HLP admins either, it just means we Wiki admins can't do it. If an HLP admin posts and says that something can't be done, or won't be due to the time or difficulty involved, the request will be removed from the list.

Currently requested changes:
Title: This Ancient Parsing
Post by: Androgeos Exeunt on February 10, 2012, 08:01:12 am
Just a minor gripe with the fact that the Wiki doesn't seem to know how to parse something. It's been there since...around the time edit changes suddenly went white for some reason, which is a very long time.

Title: Requesting Wiki Registration
Post by: Bryan See on August 23, 2013, 04:51:14 am
Hello,

I would like to register myself on FreeSpace Wiki, because I want to help out in expanding info on ship classes, weapons, species, campaigns, walkthroughs, etc. I also like to fix typos to make it readable.

I'd like to register to the wiki too... I spend lots of time looking into the user-made ships list and would like to help there.

Missed these before.  I've created the accounts and PMmed you two your passwords.  You can change them after you log in.

The FreeSpace Wiki appears to be down, while most of the HLP websites are up. It appears that the wiki timed out responding to any requests. Is it a technical issue or not? When it's going to be fixed?

Here's what I've got while waiting for the FreeSpace wiki to load:

Error 524 Ray ID: b827b80b7d003be
A timeout occurred

Is it a cloudflare problem?

Empty browser cache, try different browser?

I think it's due to the browser cache. I cleared it, and I am able to access the wiki again.

For some reason, I thought I already had a wiki account, but it looks like I don't. Could I get an account registered?

Could we get this added please?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template_talk:TOC_limit

I've already added the template and will be using it in reformatting the briefing/debriefing pages. This would be really useful, as without it the table of Contents is going to end up massive.

[EDIT] http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/Briefing_texts_%28FS1-Act1%29 See?

Done, but in this case, the TOC limit feature didn't require any special admin file access. :D  Have a look at this page (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Thread:Project:Forum/Common.css_~_Where_is_it%3F).

I'd like to have an account for the wiki to correct the page about menu.tbl (http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/Menu.tbl). (It's still in use by FSO and the shourcut keys actually work.)

Could I get an account as well? There are minor things to change and edit on some BP related pages.
