Title: DIASPORA MASS EXODUS ON STEAM
Post by: DekayDME on March 01, 2020, 08:06:48 pm: Ummm,... why isn't anyone on the actual direct successor to the game, redone in UNREAL ENGINE on steam? Same old game, tons of extras.

Dunno what this monstrosity is.

They're completely unrelated, not even the gameplay style is similar. The only similarity is that both feature spaceships.

To be honest, I suspect OP has gotten confused and thinks we're a community based around Diaspora (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diaspora_(video_game))

There is a player with the same name of the other Diaspora, and the details supplied here do fit. I think someone Googled Diaspora, found our site and got completely confused as to what was going on here.

EDIT: Given that a quick search turned up a very similar but more coherent post on Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/DiasporaBSG/comments/fc83b1/diaspora_mass_exodus/), I'm pretty certain this isn't a bot. Just someone trying to drum up players for their game. I suggested that they come over and tell us why we should give the game a try.

That's what I assumed too, though the weird language and link did definitely set off my bot-sense.
