GTVA techdata part 1: Galactic Terran Escort Cruiser WaspBy the time the Sol civil war ended, Earth Alliance lost nearly all of its cruisers, and desperately needed a new escort ship that was easy and quick to build.
Earth Space Equipment (ESE) came up with the plans to rebuild and reuse the old Vidar-class support cruiser.
Vidars were retired when the Aesacus-class was developed. ESE came up with the plans to upgrade its armor without the ship losing speed. only a few weeks after the plan was proposed, 19 of these ships were ordered, and finished 2 months later. This class, now re-designated the "Wasp", carries an all-around flak cannon armament that provides a very effective support for the larger warships such as the Ryujin and Tereus. GTVA also adopted this designed and began building them.
By the end of the 2401, over 290 of these ships were in service.
Main variations of the Wasp are the Mark I, which is the original model (189 built), Mark IV, monitor-type warship with 4 heavy anti-warship cannons (52 built), and the Mark VII, outfitted with thicker armor plates on the side "arms" holding the majority of flak weaponry
Mark VII also carries the more powerful but less reliable Mercury XXIX "Vampire" engines (45 built), Vasudans also have 6 Mark Vs in their 6th fleet as support for the preferred Mentu- and Imiut-classes.
Ship specifications:
Length: 221 m
Crew complement: 216
Max speed: 55 mps/198 kph

I ain't dead yet, well, the game might be (curse this graphics card), but I'm still alive and well. I cannot work on the mods, but I will release these techdata entries, logs, stories and whatever else comes to my mind. It'll keep the project alive until I'm able to return to fredding.
