So I was checking the renders over here and I made a faulty version of the "vortex" one, and then I came back and I did another one.. sure it's not as good as the original but I thought that maybe if we all start making our own render based on the ones over here or maybe doing something new... well it would be fun.

PD: no intent to replace setekh work... I find his dead site a complete inspiration ^^


So here we go, I'll give to you my versions of the "vortex" and the "hope" renders of the site, hope you guys like it.

Indeed, the only issue with Setekh's work is that most of the models are outdated. But you're doing a great job there! Although, perhaps, your talents might be better used for new renders

I'm thinking about making new ones, but I got a few of setekh's that I would love to see re-made with HTL models and all the other visual effects, so I might do some of those before ^^

The new ones lack the style and attention to artistic detail that Setekh's had... I would compare the two but it seems pretty obvious now that you have them side-by-side where they could use improvement.

FreeSpace calenders... Using some of the pics here (and maybe some of those in the "A Celebration of FreeSpace" thread...)

I got the idea from some flight sim fan site, can't remember the name though. Someone there makes a downloadable calender every month using screenshots IIRC. I might post an example if I find it.
