Okay, I went ahead and released the current patch on Moddb, it's awaiting authorization now. I didn't bother to reduce all the maxed out wing sizes yet, but as Darkmaster is planning to FRED again, he might want to take a look at what I changed in his missions ;). Everything in there was tested with Zathras 2.3 and the 3.6.15 build.
