windows 10 help wont start
I have a alienware 15 laptop with:

intel i7-7700hq 2.8GHz cpu
32.0 GB ram
NVIDIa Geforce GTX 1070 graphics card
with windows 10-x64

whenever i try to start the game it automatically quits moments after opening a window.

i have tried to follow this tutorial: https://www.reddit.com/r/mechwarrior/comments/5cfad2/how_to_play_mechcommander_1_2_on_windows_10/
with no success.
then i moved to: https://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=94744.0
but it did not describe my problems adequately and none of the solutions worked.
i have tried to use dege's voodoo2 with little success. i have played some with the glide and direct x settings, but at best i was able to get an error window on startup forcing me to quit. this happened when i had the settings:

Glide:
3dfx card: Voodoo2 (8mb/12mb, 2 tmu's)
enable glide gamma ramp, force vsync both enabled. nothing else enabled.

direct x:
videocard: geforce fx 5700 ultra with 128 mb ram
with a forced resolution of 1920x1080 (my monitors native resolution)

with these settings i get a directdrawenumerate() error

what am i doing wrong?
what am i missing?
I miss MC2 and want to play it badly.

thanks
