Title: A short grumble on ship pics
Post by: Shrike on February 07, 2001, 03:18:00 pm: People seem to like taking screenshots of their ships in modelview. But whenever they get posted, it seems to be little more than a dark ship on a black background. Graphics programs have contrast/brightness/intensity controls for a reason. Taking pics in modelview isn't for aesthetic appeal, it's to give people a good idea of what you're doing. So open up that graphics file, crank up the brightness and contrast and give 'er!

No, remember you complaining about how most of the pics we had for the various models had to be redone because they were so dark? I'm just trying to get people to make their pics more visible so they don't have to be redone. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Post by: NeoHunter on February 19, 2001, 11:30:00 pm: Actually, I did use MODELVIEW to take screenshots of ships. Then I use Photoshop to brighten it up a bit to more visible levels.
