I couldn't find a single online game, so I've decided to get a server or two up and running to host diaspora standalone servers.
Is anyone at all interested in playing online?
I presume I could host multiple game servers (e.g. different missions) on each machine in the data centre, as long as they run on separate ports (unless I'm wrong?).
Please reply if you're interested in multiplayer and if there's enough demand I'll setup permanent hosting. I've got the right hardware, just let me know if you have any requests, e.g. custom missions.

That's a nice offer. It would be especially useful if you can run one of those servers as a debug version so that we can get indications of any problems.
-
Being able to just pop in arbitrarily would sure make it more likely I'd try out the multiplayer.
-
I would be very interested in getting a PvP server up for Dog Fights
Who and how Do I go about getting One
-
Go to the launcher and click on the "Run as Standalone Server" option from the Advanced Options menu.
-
What and then restart game and join on it as I only have 1 PC and I would like the server to run with out me having to be there or hosting that is why I asked if any servers was still going
-
Okay, are you offering to run a server or just asking how to play on one? Cause the latter is just a matter of following the rules in the Diaspora multiplayer subforum.
-
No As this topic reads I was led to believe some one had hosted server either for a fee or for free,
I have tried but I can never see any server to join even if I host one then if I run a standalone and try to start the game I am told the TCP IP Protcol is in use by another operation use -Port<port Number> in command prompt I did this but still cant see any servers also It then tries to join a chat room but only hangs at Join Room

I'm Interested to play in multy. Also i can host a server if i find how to, i will try in a couple of day. I love this game, and i would love a community of multiplayer game.

Do people have to enter their IP address to play online? FS2Net is always empty, and so are the game servers... No one is online at all! I have -cap_object 0 on.
-
I am also interested in playing multi online. in the fs2net there is no one. from time to time I create an online game but after 30 hr nobody turns up so I leave

The trick is to advertise (maybe on here, maybe on the Diaspora IRC channel).
