Sword of the Stars demo

<< < (3/3)

Ace:
You can set formations and give orders such as what range to fire at, as well as target specific turrets or subsystems. (where you click on a ship determines where shots are aimed) What components your ships have, *heavilly* effect combat: i.e. lasers and missiles with the firecontrol command module are very deadly at range while mass drivers and the hammerhead command section are good for close range fighting. Firecontrol and spinal mount beams act like Homeworld's ICFs. Mix those with some point defence ships and plasma torpedo frigates and you have a good force.

Overall you have about the same depth of commands as you have in Homeworld or Nexus. The main difference, and why I like this, is that it adds in a lot of the strategic depth of Master of Orion.

But definately the demo is limited due to having so few techs, and only destroyer ships. But still very fun for multiplayer.

Starman01:
Man, I waited so long for another game like this, escpecially after that hoak that Moo3 was. The battle-effects look nice, but why the hell are the ships so colourful ? Looks like comic this way. Are those Player-colours that could turned off maybe ?

Mefustae:
So, nobody up for a game online, then?

Getter Robo G:
I'm defiantely gonna check this out.  BOTF, IG, SE4 were my bag.  MOO3 was rather diappointing. I've been fraid since to try something new.

BTW do you know if this game will me moddable? and to what extent?

Ace:
Should be as moddable as Homeworld.
