Now wait a minute Colonal, we know the Galactic Terran Alliance has a sort of Marine Corps, as they were the ones who boarded the ST Azrael in the Cutscene.  So there is clearly a Army division within the Alliance.

No. the correct sentence should be:

"Admiral and Commanding Officer of the Orion class destroyer, GTD Galatea" You can drop the GTD completely, but it's more formal to give a full designation.
